Monument · Tourist Spot
Located on Mount Eliza and overlooking Perth Water, State War Memorial houses the Cenotaph, a well-known city landmark. Erected in honor of all Australian soldiers whose remains are buried elsewhere, the Cenotaph represents an "empty tomb." Anzac Day is a national holiday observed in April to honor Australians and New Zealanders who served in the military and died in wars and peacekeeping operations. On Anzac Day, a service is held at the memorial that attracts over 40,000 visitors. At this site, you can also visit the flame of remembrance and a pool of reflection, inaugurated by Queen Elizabeth II in 2000. • was here in evening to catch the sunset. was disappointed as i was facing the wrong direction 😅 it was good place for picnic though. lively with many others laying mats enjoying the weather and kids running around. i was back in the morning to catch the sunrise and it was awesome! definitely a place to be to catch sunrise
  • Stunning place to visit right on the banks of Kings Park overlooking the Perth City skyline. So much history and walking around looking at all the names of the war heros that have lost their lives fighting for our country. It is one of the best War Memorials I have visited in the world and located is a beautiful and peaceful surrounds of Kings Park
