Penguin Island, Rockingham

4.0
Island · Wildlife Area
Situated inside the Shoalwater Islands Marine Park, Penguin Island is home to a colony of little penguins, the largest population of birds in Western Australia. Regular ferries carry tourists to and from the island, and access is also available by private boat. Only a small population of captive penguins can be viewed, but the island offers many other sights, including nesting seabirds and a large colony of pelicans, numbering nearly 500 birds. You can also swim, snorkel, take kite-boarding lessons, join kayaking tours, or simply enjoy a picnic. Remember to take your own food and drink, as none can be purchased on the island. Make Penguin Island a centerpiece of your Rockingham vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Rockingham attractions planner.

  • This Island is seriously the best place to visit. Penguins look so damn cute. But the ferry charges are little too high. Other than that everything is so cool. I love this place
  • A very small and isolated island but very beautiful. The views from this island are stunning and so is the water around it. A lovely place to swim and have a picnic.
