Ride comfortably on Ascensor Reina Victoria, a funicular railway declared a historical monument in 1998. Opened over a hundred years ago, the hillside elevator was named in honor of Queen Vitoria, the long-reigning British monarch who died in 1901. Works of public art decorate the line's stations, while the summit offers fine views of the adjacent hills. Loved my tour of this funky city and the funicular are a cool way of moving people up and down the hills of Valparaiso.
Good service, waiting time is around 3 minutes. And as everything in Chile, you have to pay for it too. Surprisingly cheap: 100 pesos for trip.
