Founded in 1994 by a Belgian conservationist, this 30 hectare (74 acre) sanctuary offers shelter to several dozen chimps rescued from poachers. Set on a river bank and surrounded by lush greenery, the sanctuary also boasts an educational center designed to teach locals and foreign visitors about the importance of animal conservation.
