Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary
At Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary, explore the landscape of grassland plains, native trees, wetlands, and green hills inhabited with a variety of game and wild beasts. The name of the sanctuary translates to "little fires," referring to fires caused by lightning strikes typical for the area, which then lead to the park's mission of becoming Swaziland's first conservation area. A guided nature trail takes you through the unspoiled northern section, or you can horseback ride among zebras and antelopes. Visit an authentic Swazi village for a piece of the local culture. Amenities include a swimming pool and a restaurant overlooking a picturesque pond occupied by hippos and crocodiles. Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our , international travel planner Edition.

There is no predators or cats here. Only the usual animals such as wildebeest, antelopes and also reptiles (crocodiles) and birds. Nonetheless, the landscape here is nice. more »

Despite being a fairly small stroll around the Mlilwane Rest camp we were still able to see a few mamals and appreciate the beauty of nature. I was quite impressed by the elegance of the impalas and..... more »

We just stayed in the Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary for one night but really enjoyed our stay! We slept in one of the Beehive Villages and really liked the accommodation! The furniture is spartan but there is everything you need inside the hut. The bathroom was clean and the shower was hot. We didn't eat in the restaurant so I can't say something concerning the food. We really liked the sanctuary due to the fact that you can discover everything by foot. We did a nice walk in the morning and saw lots of zebras, impalas, a colourful chameleon and even really large crocodiles. We searched for hippos but couldn't find any. The atmosphere in the camp is really nice, especially in the evening at the campfire. You sit there next to warthogs that sleep next to the warm fire. A great experience! We can highly recommend a visit of Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary!

Lovely nature reserve and cultural village in close proximity to the Ezulwini Valley. The Waterfall was a pleasant surprise and fairly substantial. The dances and music gave a good impression of the Swazi culture and it was certainly worth the visit.
