  • Castelnaud Castle (the Chapel) is a very beautiful and well-preserved castle which is located on a rocky outcrop and offers magnificent views. The ballad ("crapahutage" version!) leads to passages where people sensitive to vertigo will have to hang on but it's worth it!! Beware of young children: the ramparts to the weapons of war and the windowslandof the castle (where you can sit) are not very secure. Very nice visit with nice entertainment in a good atmosphere. The museum of weapons is well supplied and the objects presented are impressive, especially by their state of preservation. We did it in a free visit but suddenly we lack a bit of info.. The guided tour is to be preferred. Beautiful visit and sublime panorama!

  • This is a really neat castle. You can see for miles and notice the other castle, Beynac, across the river. We were there in mid March. There weren't crowds but also the many activities they usually have weren't happening. Very beautiful.
  • Must be the best medieval castle I have visited. Entry includes a well informed visit by a guide. Plus the view of the river valley is wonderful. We'll worth the visit.
