A rose by any name probably lives at the historic Park Rosenhoehe, whose Rosarium boasts more than 200 different types of rose and is considered the parks "jewel in the crown." Unveiled around 1810, the park was the inspiration of Grand Duchess Wilhelmine, wife of Grand Duke Ludwig II. As you stroll through the park's extensive meadows and orchards, you can read posted details about the various buildings scattered about. You can pay your respects to the park's founders at the burial site of the Grand Ducal family. To visit Park Rosenhoehe on your trip to Darmstadt, use our Darmstadt travel route planner .

Even the impressive entrance gate impresses. The park itself offers numerous perspectives and seating. In the upper area, where it has already been redesigned, it is simply beautiful. Partly the park is being redesigned (especially the rose beds), so that you can not enjoy the full splendour at the moment.

Nothing that rips one off the stool, but well maintained and well suited for a walk. The fruit trees were cordoned off, there probably too many visitors had just served themselves like that. The rose garden used to be even more elaborately looked after, but also such a pleasant walk.
This place is amazing in june when the roses bloom. All the other time, also nice park for a walk or for jogging.
Beautiful park! Usually not to crowded what I really appreciate!
