  During a city walk through Rotterdam I came through this beautiful park with wide views, but also quiet corners. Not only trees and lawns, but also beautiful plants. A beautiful oasis within the big city, where it is lovely to stay.

  Escape the city by crossing a bridge into a little known green corner just a stone's throw from Het Park (Erasmus park). Quite and peaceful green area in the city that isn't busy at all. Leave your bike at the gate and take a gentle stroll through this garden with lots of flora and some fauna (birds mostly). Quite romantic and has some nice place to rest along the several ponds.

  It's a relatively unknown little park with a big history. The park is centuries old and used to be privately owned by the wealthy merchants with their roots in the cultural aftermath of the golden age of Holland. In that time there were many plants imported from different places around the world and the park is a resemblance of the trade routes of that time. The park is a bit unknown even by locals and a quiet place in the city. There are a few places to sit and enjoy the surroundings and the quiet. It's a great place to go and read a book. The park is open daily from 09.00 till 16.30.
