Smack dab in the middle of the old town core, City Palace of Jaipur plays home to a royal residence and blends a fusion of architectural styles. Explore the expansive palace complex, built with distinctive pink sandstone and white accents, to see its intricate network of verandas, courtyards, meeting halls, and other rooms. You'll see elements of classic Indian, Mughal, European, and local Rajput construction techniques throughout, a result of the many additions to the palace since its origins in the late 1720s. Don't miss popping into the art gallery inside the public audience hall, as it features an array of centuries-old scriptures and other works of art from the region. Alternatively, visit the armory for a look at one of the nation's finest collections of historic weaponry.
