Climb Spanish Steps, the widest staircase in Europe and one of the most majestic urban monuments of the Baroque style. The 136 steps once linked the Spanish Embassy to a Franciscan church that was officially under the patronage of the Bourbon kings of France. An iconic fountain created by artist Gianlorenzo Bernini and his father stands at the foot of the staircase. Designed by architects Francesco de Sanctis and Alessandro Specchi, the staircase and the piazza were built between 1723 and 1725. If want to visit you should spend minimum 2,3 days to see all the famous locations in Rome. There was so crowded in the steps. You should go to the top to get a good view of City from the top.You have to spend time on here to get a feel on ancient city. Be careful about your valuable thing in the crowd. Don’t eat from the restaurant next to the tourist attractions they will charge you more.If you want cheap & locals food you should walk through the street. You will find best street food then.
The Spanish steps is such a beautiful and iconic site. It is situated in a bustling plaza surrounded by very high end stores. At the top is a beautiful church. Both the steps and church are free to enter. Be aware of the large crowds and pickpockets. If you're trying to get here by train be sure to get off at the Spagna station. As soon as you walk out the train station the steps are directly to the left of you. I highly recommend!
