It a must visit place if you found yourself in Venice, when you buy the ticket you also get free pass to Doge's Palace, another place that i suggest to visit. You need to have at least 2 hours to be able to visit everything that this museum have to offer : paintings, sculpture, mural, coins, Maquette of ships, library with old books. Each room it more amazing then the other.

I found especially the antique art section spectacular. The section included some sublime icons from the Middle Ages. One of the best collections I remember seeing. Some of the rooms and interior is breathtaking. There is plenty to see here so reserve plenty of time. Very pleasant to walk around and not busy at all. The guards and staff displayed slightly dubious work ethics. One guard was sat in his chair sleeping. His colleague tried to wake him up with a loud hiss: he woke up, and fell back asleep about 5 seconds later. A couple of others were openly discussing coworkers and other gossip.
