  • I really enjoyed checking out the many different exhibits and learning a bit about Kazakh history. Exhibits span a wide selection of history, from prehistoric times all the way up to the modern period. There is a ton to see - I spent over four hours and still didn't get to look at everything in the museum. Also, the cafeteria downstairs is very cozy and serves warm, delicious Kazakh food and drinks.
  • Grand museum with a lot of information and exhibits - well thought out, not just text upon text. Also a lot of attentive staff. We did not visit the golden chamber but we were short on time and our local friend said it's probably not worthy in our case. The Samruk and it's egg in the foyer is stunning, and if you come at the right time it will also flap it's wings. We came in October, and it was quite empty
