  • One of the most undiscovered natural places in the world, where nature has not been introduced into modernity, there are also in Jabal al-Akhdar the archaeological city of Shahat, one of the largest archaeological cities in North Africa, built by the Greeks a long time ago, as is the Green Mountain, Ras Al Hilal Waterfall.

  • The Jebel Akhadr (Green Mountain) is a mountainous area of Cyrenaica that rises to almost novento meters and has been in the past the heart of the Libyan resistance to colonialism and theater of the exploits of the national hero Omar El Mukh nicknamed the Lion of the desert As the title of the historical film filmed in 1981 on the resistance he caped. It is enough to observe the nature of this wild plateau to understand the difficulties met by Graziani in quelling the reprisals of his guerrillas in a guerrilla that lasted 7 years meters above sea level where it faces steep with imposing and Picturesque terraces both from the lookout point and the wild vegetation of the area where it rises and integral part of the National Park established in 1975 with the name of Wadi Kouf National Park, named after the bridge that crosses this wadi, twin of the bridge Morandi , is the largest and most widely known of the seven existing parks in Libya. From the naturalistic point of view, the area concerned is an extraordinary example of the interaction between marine and coastal ecosystems extending for about 13 miles of coastline and for 160 kilometers inland for an area of 100,000 hectares. 90% of the plants reviewed in the country are present in the park, while the coastal area is one of the last safe shelters of the sea turtles in the Mediterranean and the dolphin with the bottle nose as well as it is also for the poultry that contemplates flaminoteri , cormorants, herons on the coast and several species of birds of prey. I have endorsed it several times from resident until 2010, only so you can see it otherwise takes two/three days because it lacks refreshment and you must return to the city of Beida or El Marj to sleep. Today it is not advisable to visit even if people are very hospitable. It remains an area reserved for pure enthusiasts.
