Following a discovery of the golden bamboo lemur here in 1986, the park was established in 1991 after which it soon became one of the most visited places on the island. • If you want to see lemurs this is a great park. There are 8 species. Choice of routes from 2 hours to 7 hours. Paths are good and partly paved, the terrain is hilly so take good walking shoes and drink enough. Tip: Go from 12 o'clock, then the lemurs come down and you can photograph them well.

  • Great park with many lemur species and some geckos and chameleons. Unfortunately, the park is overcrowded in August. We had found almost no parking space. In the forest, about 70 people stood in a confined space to photograph certain lemurs. Since this was partly on the slope in the unpaved terrain, it was quite a shov. We should have listened to one guide (Adrian) and didn't start until 11 a.m. There was the crowd out of the forest again. --> I would recommend the park, but only if there are few people there.

  • Amazing ❤️ 👌 so beautiful certainly worth the effort
  • The Ranomafana National Park is well preserved and in appropriate conditions. Extremely clean with friendly and efficient guides. It is appreciated to contribute to a responsible tourism, because part of the fee of these visits, goes to the conservation of the park and the study of the flora and fauna. The trail is safe and well conditioned, during the trail we saw 6 of the 11 different species of Lemurs, also chameleons and different birds. is quite safe and the guide is concerned that everything goes well. The guide can offer an evening tour to see nocturnal animals in the area. At the end of the long journey it is very rewarding and recommendable to take a dip in the thermal hot water pool of the town. The park might be over saturated of visits in high season, less charming and genuine. As people is talking and taking photos to the animals all the time.
