Follow in the footsteps of Mayan women, who were expected to make the pilgrimage to San Gervasio Mayan Archaeological Site at least once in their lifetime. An ancient reminder of the once-mighty Mayan civilization, the spiritual site was dedicated to the worship of a feminine god, Ix Chel, hence its importance to Mayan women. Consider taking a guided tour to fully appreciate the site's epic history, although information boards in English mean self-guided exploration can still prove rewarding. Look out for the site's resident iguanas, who like to bask in the sun. Bring your camera and sunscreen, and consider arriving early before it gets busy.   The place has an excellent structure to welcome tourists. In relation to the ruins the visit is fantastic, the informative plates that guide us. Very nice the visit, it is very worth it.
