Cathedrale Notre-Dame-Immaculee, Monaco-Ville

A Roman Catholic cathedral and burial place of the country's royalty, Cathedrale Notre-Dame-Immaculee exudes a sense of hushed solemnity amidst shining marble floors and delicate frescoes. Constructed on the site of Monaco's first parish church, which was built in 1252, the cathedral was consecrated in 1875. An ornate and light-filled building, this cathedral was the site of both the wedding and the burial of the celebrated Grace Kelly, who married Prince Rainier III here in 1956. Take some time to walk around the cathedral and visit the chapels of the relics of St. Devote and St. Roman and the chapel of the Holy Sacrament. • After a tour of the Grand Duke's Palace, you will be able to reach monaco Cathedral as you go down. Grace Kelly was married at the Cathedral of Monaco on 19 April 1956 and is now sleeping in the cathedral. The interior of the church has a solemn atmosphere, and the old queens are buried in the back of the basilica.
