Tour the World Heritage Site of Bahla Fort, a vast mud-brick fortress, built during the 13th and 14th centuries. The fort was constructed by the Nabhani dynasty, rulers of the region at the time, but fell into disrepair throughout the ages, until it was recently extensively restored. Admire the towering fort walls, nestled on a sandstone foundation, explore its nooks and crannies, and enjoy the vista of the surroundings from the hilltop castle. Bahla Fort Reviews
Diese alte Burganlage thront majestätisch über dem Ort Bahla und beeindruckt durch seine Größe und Höhe. Der Bau wurde perfekt restauriert - vielleicht ein wenig zu perfekt. The construction has been perfectly restored-perhaps a little too perfect. Everything seems like a huge backdrop. Unfortunately, the rooms are completely empty, and as a result it is harder to just let yourself fall into times gone by. The construction looks like a labyrinth, without signs, but you can climb around wonderfully and enjoy the time there. The kids thought it was great and kept hiding. Thousands of rooms have to be covered for the first time! ; o))) The entrance was very cheap and the staff on site very friendly. Clean toilets are also on site. Next door is an old city, which is only partially restored, because you get an impression of what it once looked like here. Right next to it is a small parking lot, but it is quite enough. The modern city of Bahla is across the road, but there's nothing special to see there. Also a nice experience, in spite of everything ...

I would say, this is just an ok fort. Looks pretty nice, but feels like a maze when walking around. No direction signs or explanations anywhere.
Big and nice fort - only 0,5 Omr pro person entrance fee. Most rooms are empty and there usually aren't any information about it
