View the intricate decorations and artworks at Museo de Arte Virreinal, a Carmelite monastery and living museum. The 17th-century convent remained closed to the public until 2005. Now, you can get to know the complex's colonial architecture and art, as well as the lifestyle of the nuns that live here. Take a guided tour to acquaint yourself with the daily life in the convent and hear about the history of the place. View the living quarters, the simple chapel, the courtyards, and the peaceful patio of flowers. Museo de Arte Virreinal Reviews
Visited this museum around 3pm, paid 20/s each to enter. It was very quiet with only a couple of other people there and most of the rooms only contained paintings. Great place to visit if you are into... more »

You have the little ones still living there and by the way, in the gift shop they sell the desserts made by them that are D E L I C I O S O S. The guide was very attentive, the work was given to explain everything step by step and answer our questions. He made us feel at home and was kind enough to take a couple of pictures for the memory. It should be more promoted because the works you find are amazing; paintings, images and above all, a birth in a wonderful trunk.
One of the best museums I've been to in a while. The most beautiful collections of paintings from the 16,17's centuries. The working monestary is so well kept. The artifacts are so well preserved. The whole place is just beautiful! Loved it. And you would too!. Good English speaking guide. Its worth paying a little extra . With the guide you get a better understanding of the history of the monestary.
Had a good english speaking guide who could tell a lot of interesting things.
