Explore navigational aids, cargo handling techniques, and a merchant's premises, plus reception rooms and local craft workshops at the exhibits of Crane (Zuraw). The oldest surviving port crane in Europe, with two brick towers and a wooden lifting mechanism in between, was built in the 15th century. See its internal mechanisms with two pairs of wheels fitted with wooden beams, which workers had to cross to set the wheels in motion. As a division of the maritime museum, the crane showcases life in a port city in times of its greatest prosperity, between the 16th and 18th centuries.
