  • It's a short walk from St. Isaac's cathedral. As it commemorates the founder of the city and inspired Pushkin's famous (and complicated) poem, it is a must-see. It's also a fine sculpture, arising as ...  more »
  • One more monument to see for a walk around the city. Interestingly for the Russians it is very famous, to the point that it is in the magnets etc. but the statue itself has no much, it is between the river and Isaac's cathedral.

  • This statue is part of the beautiful Alexander Gardens. The statue is impressive. The Garden is awesome. Watch out though for some of the people in traditional clothing, who want to get a photo of you, and then after-the-fact charge you money. Some are respectful, but at least one was very aggressive. There are other people who dress up in the area of the Hermitage, who are also aggressive. You just have to try to dodge them or be insistent that you don't want to do it.
  • Historical place. A monument to the Greatest of all Tzars of Russia. Peter the great. The one who discovered Russia to Europe and made it modern and successful Country
