Haneul Park, Seoul

4.5
#12 of 63 in Parks in Seoul
Part of a larger site built to commemorate the 17th FIFA World Cup, the lofty Haneul Park affords panoramic views of the site and mountains beyond. The park was actually built on a 15-year-old landfill site, which held 92 million tons of garbage. Haneul Park was built on the highest mountain of trash, which has been utterly transformed into a verdant hill, covered in various trees and flowering shrubs and grasses. Check out the various viewing platforms as you take the walkway to the top of the hill, and look out for the five wind-powered generators that feed the park its energy. • The first time I came to play with my friends in the bike. The fortress is a place that passes every year. It is a good place to go for a picnic.

  • A park with a reward. The season is different, but it is also the most elegant. Stop by every season.

  • Beautiful park to visit, and It’s nice to have a chance to catch a glimpse of cosmos flower mini park. I love it. If you don’t like to walk then better you buy a round trip transport with mini electric car or if you prefer to hike then make sure you wear comfortable shoes.
  • It's just silver grass. However, for some reason I love it there. Nice place to take pictures. Even wedding photos. Don't settle for just anywhere. Instead, look around for tall grass instead. You can take shuttle bus to go up or the 291 stairs.
