  • You will have to drive a little in the mountain of Verdara to find this Benedictine remnant, but at 500m altitude you will not be able to miss it. Ancient monastery started in the 10th century so construction was continued over the centuries, passing various wars and various plunders, it was restored during the twentieth century. The building is just impressive in its size, the magnificent restoration work that has been done, and the surrounding landscape that is breathtaking due to its geographical location. If you pass through Catalonia, don't hesitate!

  • Well worth a visit. Twisty roads on route and on exit. Easy parking. Well maintained without ruining it's age and historic value. Clean, friendly staff and terrific photo opportunities. Educational, enjoyable and a great way to spend time away from the usual beach and shops. 6 euros for ages 16 and upwards. Under 16 is free. Paul
  • Fantastic spot. Magnificent historic building. There are two roads to achieve the place, the best views are from Port de la Selva, really amazing but the road is full of hairpin curves and blind curves.
