  There is not much to see because basically there are only two small rooms, but the local women were very helpful in explaining everything relevant and conjuring up images of family life!  more »

  This Museum is a house which has built in the traditional fashion from soft carved stone in the area, and covered with a flax leaf roof. I ended up here "accidentally" one night when some locals convinced me to snort the ground up seeds of some hot chili pepper they grow locally. I came to wearing an oversized dress and sitting around a miniature table with some folks pretending to have a tea party. Weird. Definitely worth the visit if you find yourself on this side of town. Wouldn't recommend it after dark though. Things on this island seem to get a little crazy once the sun sets. Oh, and despite the expert thatching, the roof still leaks.

  Was saddened to hear McDonalds are planning to build a restaurant with drive thru attached to the Thatched House😢 IS NOTHING SACRED ANYMORE 😫
