After decades of conflict, Luanda experienced a massive economic boom at the beginning of the 21st century, making it one of the most developed cities in Africa and a magnet for tourists.
Igreja Nossa Senhora dos Remedios and Palacio de Ferro are good opportunities to explore the local culture. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at National Anthropology Museum (Museu Nacional de Antropologia) and Museu da Moeda. There's still lots to do: have some family-friendly fun at Kandengole, get outside with Cabo Ledo, browse the exhibits of Fortaleza de Sao Miguel, and kick back and relax at Sangano Beach.
