The capital of the Philippines and the "Pearl of the Orient," Manila truly resembles a gem: rough on the outside, but glittering within.
Kick off your visit on the 27th (Wed): take a stroll through Intramuros and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Fort Santiago. On the next day, explore the world behind art at San Agustin Church and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Manila Cathedral.

All of 7 km (4.3 mi) long, the island of Boracay remains an idyllic destination drawing beach-goers from around the world.
Relax by the water at White Beach and Bulabog Beach. Take a break from the city and head to Scuba & Snorkeling and Balinghai Beach. There's still lots to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Yapak Beach (Puka Shell Beach), tour the pleasant surroundings at Bugtongbato Beach, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, and take a peaceful walk through Mangrove Nursery.

Traveling by combination of flight and ferry from Coron to Boracay takes 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of ferry and bus; or ride a ferry. In January, daily temperatures in Boracay can reach 30°C, while at night they dip to 26°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 6th (Sat) early enough to travel to Cebu City.

The country's second city, Cebu City boasts a number of interesting colonial buildings, thriving commercial areas, and historic temples.
Kick off your visit on the 7th (Sun): contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Taoist Temple, steep yourself in history at Magellan's Cross, contemplate the long history of Yap Sandiego Ancestral House, then contemplate the long history of Fort San Pedro, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Basilica del Santo Nino.
