After decades of conflict, Luanda experienced a massive economic boom at the beginning of the 21st century, making it one of the most developed cities in Africa and a magnet for tourists.
Step off the beaten path and head to Igreja de Nossa Senhora dos Remedios and Palacio de Ferro. Fortaleza de Sao Miguel and National Anthropology Museum (Museu Nacional de Antropologia) are good opportunities to explore the local culture. And it doesn't end there: head outdoors with Cabo Ledo, get great views at Miradouro da Lua, head off the coast to Ilha do Mussulo, and explore the landscape on two wheels at Avenida 4 de Fevereiro.
