Located on an island of the same name, the town of Basse-Terre serves as a base for rural adventures, while having a lot of appeal on its own terms.
Venture out of the city with trips to Domaine de l'Habitation la Griveliere (in Vieux-Habitants), Capesterre-Belle-Eau (Distillerie de Rhum Longueteau et Karukera & Plantation Grand Cafe) and Carbet Falls (Les Chutes du Carbet) (in Parc National).
