You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Hospital in the Rock and Liberty Bridge (Szabadsag hid). Change things up with a short trip to Geszler Family Winery in Mor (about 1h 20 min away). There's still lots to do: step into the grandiose world of Vajdahunyad Castle (Vajdahunyadvar), appreciate the history behind Anonymus Szobor (Anonymous' Statue), take in the architecture and atmosphere at University Church, and awaken your taste buds at some of the top wineries in the area.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major airport is Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport. In January, plan for daily highs up to 37°F, and evening lows to 25°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 5th (Sat) to allow time to travel back home.
