Pearl of the Danube

You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
Step off the beaten path and head to Anonymus Szobor (Anonymous' Statue) and Liberty Bridge (Szabadsag hid). Step out of Budapest to go to Mor and see Geszler Family Winery, which is approximately 1h 20 min away. The adventure continues: indulge your senses at some of the top wineries in the area, steep yourself in history at Citadel, appreciate the history behind Statue of St Stephen, and explore the historical opulence of Vajdahunyad Castle (Vajdahunyadvar).

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiport is Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport. Expect a daytime high around 37°F in January, and nighttime lows around 25°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 5th (Sat) so you can travel back home.
