You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
Step off the beaten path and head to Anonymus Szobor (Anonymous' Statue) and Wine Tours & Tastings. Step out of Budapest to go to Mor and see Geszler Family Winery, which is approximately 1h 20 min away. The adventure continues: contemplate the long history of Citadel, appreciate the history behind Statue of St Stephen, get engrossed in the history at Hospital in the Rock Nuclear Bunker Museum, and head off the coast to Margaret Island.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiport is Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport. Expect a daytime high around °F in January, and nighttime lows around °F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 5th (Sat) so you can travel back home.
