You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Liberty Statue and Budapest Pinball Museum. Your inner history buff will appreciate Citadel and Raday Castle. Esztergom

Esztergom, is a city in northern Hungary, 46km northwest of the capital Budapest. On the 5th (Sun), immerse yourself in nature at Agostyan Arboretum, then explore the historical opulence of Kuny Domokos Museum at the Tata Castle, and then admire the landmark architecture of Majk Kamalduli Remeteseg. On the 6th (Mon), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take in the spiritual surroundings of Turkish Mosque and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Esztergom Basilica / Cathedral.

Nestled between the Matra and Bukk Mountains in northern Hungary, Eger represents a mixture of historical discovery and relaxing pleasures.
