Pearl of the Danube

You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
Head to Hungarian National Gallery (Magyar Nemzeti Galeria) and Andrassy Avenuefor plenty of shopping. Get a sense of the local culture at Fisherman's Bastion and Matthias Church. Explore Budapest's surroundings by going to Tihany (Babamuzeum, Via Dolorosa, &more) and Mor (Geszler Family Winery & Csabi Miklos' Cellar). There's still lots to do: boost your wellbeing at a local thermal spa, take in the architecture and atmosphere at St. Stephen's Basilica (Szent Istvan Bazilika), examine the collection at House of Terror Museum, and get engrossed in the history at Hospital in the Rock Nuclear Bunker Museum.
