Pearl of the Danube

You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
Appreciate the collections at Budapest Pinball Museum and Balazs Folk Art Gallery. Popular historic sites such as Fisherman's Bastion and St. Stephen's Basilica (Szent Istvan Bazilika) are in your itinerary. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Budapest: Beach (in Tiszakecske) and Esztergom Basilica / Cathedral (in Esztergom). The adventure continues: step off the mainland to explore Margaret Island, see the interesting displays at House of Terror Museum, look for gifts at Book Cafe - Lotz Terem, and take a stroll through Andrassy Avenue.

For photos, other places to visit, reviews, and other tourist information, read our Budapest trip itinerary planning website.

In September, daytime highs in Budapest are 25°C, while nighttime lows are 13°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 9th (Mon) to allow time to travel back home.
