Islamabad

The country's capital since 1963, Islamabad has the look and feel of a planned administrative city because, by and large, that's exactly what it is.
Get out of town with these interesting Islamabad side-trips: Jinnah Park (in Rawalpindi), Pir Sohawa (in Haripur) and the Mall Muree (in Murree). There's still lots to do: take some stellar pictures from Daman-e-Koh, wander the streets of Saidpur Village, stroll around Lake View Park, and contemplate the waterfront views at Rawal Lake.

To find traveler tips, maps, other places to visit, and other tourist information, go to the Islamabad day trip planning tool.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Islamabad International Airport, Peshawar International Airport and Sialkot Airport. In January, daytime highs in Islamabad are 64°F, while nighttime lows are 40°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 6th (Mon) to allow enough time to travel back home.
