Sitting on the cathedral square, Chapel of the Boim Family houses the remains of 14 members of the Boim dynasty. Created in 1609, this structure features elements of Polish and Italian architecture, ornamented with Dutch-style sculptures. The facade represents a solid example of bourgeois art, and exaggerated motifs adorn almost every inch of the chapel. Observe murals and fresco images depicting both people of that era and Biblical characters, and look for one wall that appears as if it was turned inside-out. Study the complex dome adornments and search for brass angel-like faces. For Chapel of the Boim Family and beyond, use our Lviv trip builder website to get the most from your Lviv vacation.

  • I only visited the outside of this chapel now museum. It was very crowded the day I showed up. I was not going to attempt entry. Like groups of 30 people or more. The outside is very ornamental. The sitting figure on the roof grabbed my attention. I will try and visit the museum while here.
  • What a wonderful building!they say that this chapel was built for poor people to understand Bible. You can easily catch the meanings of sculpture
