Battery Park is a public park overlooking Lake Champlain at the western end of downtown Burlington, Vermont. The park includes a bandshell, a playground, and various monuments, including a bronze statue of Civil War veteran General William W. Wells, and a red oak sculpture of Chief Gray Lock, a veteran of Gray Lock's War. Locally, it is popular for its wide, sweeping views of Lake Champlain.

  • I would not recommend visiting this park - we went for the view, expecting to find a well maintained park setting. Unfortunately we found it to be littered with garbage, and occupied by vagrants...  more »

  • Absolutely stunning. Burlington Vt has some amazing views as well as people! I'd even say they're nicer than most Canadians! I miss it already. Thanks VT!
  • Is a really pretty area. My only complaint is that the should be more (usable) bathrooms, especially for large events. When my mom and I were there on Sunday afternoon for Pride Day, there were two port-a-potties in addition to the two single- stall restrooms, but the two port-a-potties were locked with the kind of key lock you ot on lockers.
