East Point Reserve
Just north of the city, East Point Reserve is noted for its many walking trails, cycling paths, and lush surroundings teeming with native wildlife. This area is also home to the city’s East Point Military Museum, introducing tourists to the region’s rich military history. The reserve is particularly attractive at dusk, when you can watch a large mob of wallabies emerge to feed as the sun sets over the bay. A small saltwater lake is also located inside the reserve, created specifically to allow visitors year-round swimming and fishing opportunities in safe waters. You can also explore the offshore coral reef, a rich underwater world of protected marine wildlife. A large children's playground and barbecue facilities are provided for visitors planning family picnics in this spot. Using our world travel planner, Darwin attractions like East Point Reserve can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.
