Create an itinerary including Jenolan Caves
Dated to 340 million years, Jenolan Caves represent the oldest known cave system on Earth. The site's main attractions are ten caves filled with ancient limestone formations. You can drop by for a short tour, lasting only a couple of hours and visiting only one cave, or arrange to stay for an entire week and explore all ten caves currently open to the public. A variety of educational and inexpensive family-oriented tours are available on a daily basis.  Frequent underground concerts by Australia's notable performers are held in several caves. You can also choose to undertake a series of nature walks through the rugged mountain bush, all of which are clearly marked and free of charge. • I went on public holiday, it was easy to find the escort vehicle, there were traffic controller really organised and easy access. Tour started on time. Amazing cave we did Lucas cave. Highly recommended book your ticket online! Easy to walk down instead catch the shuttle bus nice view!
  • The caves themselves are as beautiful as ever, however the drive there now from Sydney is just way too long and boring. The rains in early 2020 has closed the westbound approach via Jenolan Caves road so now you must enter via the western side via Oberon, adding at least 40 minutes to an already long drive. The cave tours are run by knowledgeable and friendly staff. The tours themselves are not that long and they give you plenty of time to take photos. For EV drivers, there are 2 charging stations at the entrance of the Orient cave.
