Create an itinerary including Pylon Lookout at Sydney Harbour Bridge
From the top of the southeast pylon on Sydney Harbour Bridge--87 m (285 ft) above sea level--you have panoramic views of Sydney, the Opera House, and the bridge itself. As you climb the 200 stairs, learn about the bridge’s construction and the workers who built it from informational plaques, exhibitions, and old footage spread over several levels inside the pylon. Interestingly, while providing some support, Pylon Lookout at Sydney Harbour Bridge, with its granite façade, is mostly decorative. • It gives you an excellent view of the bridge and of the harbour area and the opera house. Views are probably just as good as doing the bridge climb, but much much cheaper (only $19).

  • Interesting to get the history of the building of the bridge. And nice to get the view from the Pylons. Would recommend first thing when it opens so that there are fewer people on the pylon.

  • Best kept secret in Sydney. Highly recommend this. Such an affordable way to get a great view of Sydney Harbour and get some great photos. Also a lovely little museum and short film within the Pylon. Suitable for people on a budget and can't afford the Bridge Climb or for those too scared to do the Bridge Climb. Plan to do this once a year with my son in the school holidays from now on. Great day out. Followed by lunch at The Rocks.
  • Amazing attraction to visit. You’re close enough to the bridge and can see the climbers in action, also gives beautiful views of the Opera House and boats in the harbour. We arrived at opening on a Sunday morning and there were only two other couples here so we had plenty of space to roam. Any more than 10-15 people and it would be difficult to get around the small viewing platform I imagine. Staff were pleasant. The museum part is tiny. I would just note it’s on the right side of the bridge and not the left as per Google maps, although it is well sign posted on foot from the station hub.
