More than a train station, Antwerpen-Centraal is an eclectic architectural marvel. Designed by three separate architects and built between 1895 and 1905, the station has received several distinctions as one of the most beautiful railway stations in the world. Enter the historic domed building and marvel at the station's marble and stone interior. Note the three levels of platforms that provide connections throughout the country and the rest of Europe. The station mixes old with new, as renovations have been needed over the years. Notice how the modern architecture blends beautifully with the historic style. Make Antwerpen-Centraal a centerpiece of your Antwerp vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Antwerp trip planner.

Walking from the main entrance it looks more like a stately home. Amazing expense and architecture. Modern extension to the rear of this large station. Clean and tidy

Most say it is the most beautiful train station of Europe and rightly so. From it's facade to interior, it amazes you that how beautiful a train station can be. The architecture from it's main lobby is just mesmerizing. I would say it is the most important landmark of Antwerp. Whenever you visit the city, just take your time and admire this wonderful piece of architecture.

The most beautiful train station I have ever seen. The foyer is absolutely stunning, with marble everywhere and stunning detail from floor to ceiling. On a practical note, if you're changing trains or planning to get coffee before boarding, just be wary that there is more than what meets the eye to this station as it has multiple levels above and below ground. At the time of my visit, many escalators and elevators were out of order, too.
