A lesson in how to ruin the joy of buying chocolates!! The man who served me was so incredibly rude - I've never seen anything like it in a shop before. No greeting or pleasantries. On the pretext that it was busy he tried to force me to buy one of their prepacked assortment boxes when I actually wanted to select the flavours I preferred. When he could see I was about to leave he relented begrudgingly so I hurriedly told him what I wanted, while his body language and brusque utterances spoke volumes. (I later noticed he'd ignored my selections and quantities!) And to top it all off, as I could speak Flemish I could tell he was making negative comment about me and also his next customer under his breath to his co-worker. Why oh why didn't I walk out at the start?!! They obviously don't have to rely on repeat customers to stay in business otherwise there would be no way they'd get away with this type of behaviour. The chocolates don't even taste that good despite their claim to being the best in Belgium. Or perhaps it's the sour taste the experience left in my mouth.
