Marvel at the ornate exterior of Stadhuis, whose Gothic facade is guarded by gilded knights. The building has withstood the test of time and is hailed as a symbol of the city. A small fee gets you access to the hall and the antechamber. These are the only rooms opened to the public, but the architecture and the artwork hanging on the walls is worth the short visit. Pick up an information card at the entrance to guide you through the paintings and the people pictured in them. With our world travel planner, Bruges attractions like Stadhuis can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • This is an impressive building. The main room demands careful attention and the side museum with documents and other objects would repay more time than we were able to give.

  • This is another lovely building in the Markt of Bruges. This time, it is the (still functioning) 14th century town hall.

  • If you are in the square this building is hard to miss. The architecture is stunning and very beautiful. Unfortunately we were not able to go inside since we were on a tight schedule but I heard it's also worth visiting. It's worth stopping by whether you go inside or outside.
  • Gotic hall, nicely decorated! All over it has pictures through which history is told. It took them 9 years to agree which picture should be drawn! You read the story by your self from a plastic paper.Entrance 7 euro for this hall and the court house.
