Herge Museum
A must-see for any Tintin fan, Herge Museum is devoted to the cartoon's artist and creator Georges Remi, penname Herge. While the museum showcases several of his works, it largely focuses on Tintin. Through the nine exhibits learn about Herge's life, inspirations, creations, and characters. The building has been designed with contemporary architecture, as per Remi's interest in modern art. There is also a mini cinema and a cafe/restaurant attached. Don't worry if you aren't staying in the area; the local train station is walking distance. Put Herge Museum into our Louvain-la-Neuve journey planning app to see other points of interest to visit during your vacation in Louvain-la-Neuve.

A wonderful purpose built museum for the work of Herge who spent his life elevating the work of ‘comic’ books quite an achievement. The structure is staggering and the work is so well displayed. Well worth a trip out to see it. The cinema section shows the movies that inspired his drawings from King Kong to the Marc’s brothers. Give yourself time to get around everything.

Had the most wonderful time here! The museum is excellent and there's a free audio guide app that was clever, informational, and easy to navigate. I spent probably 3-4 hours here but most people would probably take about an hour and a half. Great if you love Tintin, great if you love Hergé's other works too. Well designed and so interesting! You can see original inks, plates, gouache art, memorabilia, and photographs.
