Create an itinerary including Rosenborg Castle
To see an exhibit featuring a collection of Danish crown jewels and regalia, head to Rosenborg Castle, one of the country's finest examples of Renaissance architecture. Originally constructed as King Christian IV's country house in 1606, the structure underwent several major expansion projects through 1624. The elegant castle sits in the middle of one of the city's liveliest parks and serves as a royal history museum. In addition to the famous crown jewels, which are displayed in the catacombs beneath the castle, the museum collection also includes a coronation carpet and the throne chair of Denmark. • This castle had a lot of memorabilia- queen's gown, various crowns swords, etc. The rooms were interesting and the grounds are next to a larger park.

  • It is set in the heart of the city on vast grounds, which makes it a good public space, for the locals occasionally. The castle is a beautiful Danish Renaissance architecture, but is not the grandest in it's size, yet it has a rich collection of treasures from history. It was a fantasy to see all the various clocks of the time, orchestra, wardrobes, glass room, porcelain room, beautiful pieces carved with amber and ivory, wine from the century, weapons, the crown, etc.. For tourists who love history, should visit the Rosenborg castle, especially when it's so easy to reach.
  • The best castle to visit while in Copenhagen! The endless architectural wonders are mind blowing. The art and jewels are breathtaking. One hour is not even close to enough time. Schedule at least half the day to enjoy the castle and the grounds. The gardens are magnificent.
