ALOLA ESPERANSA PROVIDE A MARKET FOR LOCAL WEAVERS GROUPS AND PROVIDE NEW HOPE FOR THEM TO PRODUCE HIGH QUALITY PRODUCTS. In 2005, Alola Foundation established Alola Esperansa project with goal to support the program of Alola Foundation especially the Economic Development program to assist Timorense weavers develop small industry and improve the status of women by purchasing their textiles. The industry’s aim is to provide an outlet for weavers to sell their traditional textiles “tais” and also provide employment especially for women. Alola Esperansa has two sections, retail and production. On retail section, Alola Esperansa operates one outlet in Dili at the Alola Foundation building.
