  • Juno beach is something else. Historic, tragic, powerful and moving. Seeing the Canadian flag here and understanding what actually happened here is important. Learning about it is one thing, seeing this beach is another. And yet, the juxtaposition of the sunbathers reminds us that life goes on, that those Canadians on D-day fought for our freedom and that they, along with the allied forces on all those beaches, fought to liberate France. So that it’s possible for people to enjoy the beauty of this beach.
