Tiergarten Nuernberg, a 69 hectare (170 acre) zoo, holds approximately 300 different animal species. You'll get a glimpse of Asiatic lions, snow leopards, giraffes, polar bears, wolves, tapirs, gorillas, and Siberian tigers. Swing by the tropical house to see white-faced sakis, bats, river turtles, manatees, and 20 species of butterflies. A schedule at the front of the zoo posts the times for dolphin and sea lion shows.   • Probably visiting in the middle of winter is not ideal but it was a great experience. We spent approximately 3 hours and we would probably need at least 2 more hours to see everything. The place is massive with many animals in fairly large enclosures, a male lion and a tiger the only exception noticed. What is really amazing though is the landscape and the feeling that you are walking through a forest with the occasional animals on your path. A great place to spend the day with your family.
  • The zoo itself was really nice, they had a lot of different animals but.. I'm pretty disappointed that all of the information was only in German so I didn't really get anything out of it.. Sadly there weren't any feeding shows at the time of my visit :
