Explore a castle, rent a paddle boat on the lake, visit the zoo, and stroll the tree-lined paths at City Park Városliget, the public park close to the city center. The main venue of the 1896 Millenium Celebration, the park is often the site of different festivals, fairs, and markets, and houses a children's playground, thermal baths, and the Museum of Agriculture. The park is easily accessible via the local tram and subway. Arrange to visit City Park Városliget and other attractions in Budapest using our Budapest trip builder app.

Hungarian central park. A lot of happening here - castles, monuments, museums, playgrounds. Amazing place for a hot weekend.

City Park is easily accessible from many directions. By public transport, the easiest way to get there is via the Heroes’ square stop on metro line 1. As soon as you emerge from the station, you’ll know you’re in the right place.. City Park was created with this exact aim in mind. It was designed so that anyone in need of a quick break in an enchantingly romantic and gorgeous open space may be able to find just that at the drop of a hat. City Park has seen its strengths grow in the last 200 years. Its willows and plane trees, shaded walks, grand museums and buildings are sure to enchant visitors with a unique side of the Hungarian capital.

My place to chill, relax and have a bike tour with friends. At winter, the lake is half-frozen so people can enjoy skating. In summer it's even more fun, where you get to sit and watch the beautiful fountains with the lovely ducks and fishes in the lake. People go there by foot but bikes are welcome as there are dedicated routes all around the city.
