Create an itinerary including St. Gellert Thermal Bath and Swimming Pool
Combine the medicinal healing of St. Gellert Thermal Bath and Swimming Pool with the rich history of the famous Hotel Gellért. Explore the grand hotel and baths, which opened in 1918, and view the stunning main hall, marble balconies, and ornate mosaic terraces. Learn about the hot thermal springs, dating back to the 13th century, and the site itself, which was a hospital during the Middle Ages and a bath during Ottoman rule. The beautiful Art Nouveau women's bath was destroyed during World War II but has been rebuilt and renovated multiple times--as recently as 2008--to restore it to its original grandeur. Experience the natural healing powers of these springs, which supposedly can help relieve joint pain, inflammation, asthma, and other issues, or simply relax in the pools for a spa day. • Ended up here late in the afternoon and we had a good time. The building itself is lovely with some fine architecture. There are lots of areas so you won't have trouble finding somewhere to plot...

  • 1 pool in the middle for swimming with a cap. 1 on the side 36°. 2 pools in the left wing 36° and 40° and with a steamy sauna and a small pool 20° to cool off. Same in the other wing but both 36°. Outdoor there's a pool with a water massage pressure and next to there's a dry sauna with a small bath to cool off. In short very beautiful historic spa with mosaics and statues. Definitely worth a 5* rating and highly recommended. Don't forget to take slippers since they're obligatory!
  • It’s definitely worth trying. Just keep in mind to bring your own towel, and slippers you need to wear while walking around. There is a very beautiful indoor pool. But you need to wear a swim cap if you want to try it out. All items can be bought at the location. But you can also bring your own. Reason for 4 stars is i come from a place where thermos pools are normal and common. But it’s a definitely must try for the experience.
