The Teatro del Silenzio is an Italian open air amphitheatre which is located in Lajatico, Tuscany — the hometown of Andrea Bocelli. In 2006, Bocelli influenced the municipality of his hometown Lajatico to build the outdoor theatre, and contributed greatly towards its construction.
The theatre hosts a concert by Bocelli, its honorary president, once every July, while remaining silent the rest of the year.
Andrea Bocelli is honorary president of Teatro del Silenzio with Fabio Tedeschi, the mayor of Lajatico, president; and Enrico Fabbri, the boss of Fabbri, vice-president.
Once a year in July the Teatro del Silenzio plays host to a concert. The concert includes performances by Andrea Bocelli and other guests. To date there have been 11 concerts in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016.

I am writing this review after a visit on a spectacular afternoon in mid-May when the Tuscan hills are green. I have not seen a concert there (yet). It's easy to find and a wonderful place to simply relax and enjoy the beauty of Tuscany. It blows me away that other reviewers dismiss this site and say "there is nothing to see." Relax. Breathe. Meditate. Drink a glass of wine. Feel the natural beauty of this place. Maybe even put Bocelli's music in your ear buds. Then you will know what it means to experience this uniquely beautiful theatre.

Chaos on arrival as we we're made to stand in a boiling hot field in the sun for over an hour then bag checks were even more chaotic. On exit it took over one and a half hours to leave the field parking area and get back on the road, so basically the poor organisation spoilt the experience. The actual concert was brilliant. For £1,500.00 for our party of 6 I would have expected better treatment.
