  • Yes this is right in the middle of an old and fascinating street but who knew this was there? I suspect the locals like it too much to share. The chapel is tranquil and quiet but is the centrepiece...

  • Oratory of the Madonna against the disease wanted to thank the Virgin for the narrow escape against pestilence. Built starting in 1656, based on a project by the Poppese doctor Francesco Folli. The works ended after about 50 years. Florentine architecture of the 1500s with a hexagonal plan and stone portico. Inside we have an altar and 2 niches
  • Singular oratory with a hexagonal plan with triple, elegant, portlcato designed by the doctor F. Folli and dedicated to the Madonna for having spared Poppi from the two plagues (those of 1530 and that of 1630) which had also raged in the Casentino. Construction of the church began in 1657, was opened for worship in 1659 and completed in 1705. The interior has three chapels, in the largest the remarkable panel: "Madonna with Child and St. John" from the school of F. Lippi. The decoration of the dome is interesting.
