Nearly 2,000 years old, Pantheon is the only building from the Greco-Roman world that has remained substantially intact and in continuous use throughout its long history. A marvel of ancient architecture, it still boasts the world's largest unreinforced concrete dome. Originally designed to be a temple to all the gods of the ancient Rome, the site has been used as a Roman Catholic church, dedicated to St. Mary, since the seventh century. The building features large, granite Corinthian columns. Don't skip this site if it's raining; seeing and hearing the rain pouring into this ancient building through the hole in the ceiling is a special experience. After seeing all the ruins of the Roman empire in the rest of Rome, we were amazed to see the Pantheon still standing in all its splendor. Impressive outside already, the inside and it's concrete...

This was one of the few "must-sees" during our trip to Rome. The entrace is free (however over the weekend and Bank Holidays you must book a visit). Don't get discourgaded by the long looking queue...

A marvel of historical architecture. So much of Ancient Rome preserved at this one site. The surrounding area is really good too - nice restaurants and cafes. Good vibe. Although entry is free, you’ll easily miss all the secrets unless you book a tour guide.

A beautiful place with classical architecture. I recommend you see it with your own eyes. You must have a reservation on weekends, but during the week there is no problem with getting in. It is worth taking a look inside because there is something to see there. Everything is in perfect condition, beautiful sculptures and paintings. The perfect place to start exploring Rome.
